CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services and Akron Clinical Announce Formation of Latin America Joint Venture – CTI Latin America, S.A.

[ Cincinnati, Ohio ~ May 19, 2010] CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services (CTI) and Akron Clinical announce the formation of CTI Latin America, S.A., a joint venture to serve the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry in Latin America. The company headquarters will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina and services will be provided throughout the region.

“The two firms, CTI and Akron Clinical have enjoyed a successful partnership over the last few years and this joint venture will allow us to integrate our service offering for the benefit of our mutual clients. Through this agreement, CTI can now offer its customers our expertise and knowledge in a growing region, where local staff and experience is key to success,” according to Claudia Zylberberg, Ph.D., a member of the Board of Directors of the new organization.

Also, the group of Latin American companies demanding global research projects has been increasing significantly. Under this scenario, the synergies coming from this agreement will allow us to expand and improve our offering both in terms of services and geographic coverage,” states Laura Bocanera, PhD, CEO of the new company.

An important number of clinical research programs now include many respected Latin American investigators and their patient populations. Akron Clinical has been actively serving this market by providing support for each stage of projects, from site selection to close out activities, for Phase I to IV clinical studies as well as bioequivalence and bioavailability projects.
