FLORIDA CONFERENCE AIMS TO FOSTER ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BETWEEN U.S. AND CHINA/TAIWAN

 

Speakers include former Time magazine “Man of the Year” who developed the now-standard HIV “cocktail therapy” and the co-founder of EA Tiburon, developer of the Madden NFL video game series

 

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 11, 2009) – A conference aimed at networking the nation’s Chinese-Americans working in academic and professional environments and creating global partnerships for future research and economic development is scheduled for September 9-12, 2009 in Orlando, Fla.  The areas of focus are biotech, medical, healthcare/nutrition and global business.  Complete conference details are available at http://www.caspaf.org/conference/index.php.

 

The event is organized by the Chinese American Scholars & Professionals Association of Florida (CASPAF) and the Florida High Tech Corridor.  The CASPAF president and conference chairman is C.T. Hsu, FAIA, president of C.T. Hsu + Associates ( www.cthsu.com) and a native of Taiwan .

 

Confirmed speakers include the following industry leaders:

?          David Ho, M.D., Ph.D., scientific director/CEO of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York City and a former Time magazine “Man of the Year” who developed the now-standard HIV "cocktail therapy"

?          Steven Chiang, co-founder, GM and senior VP of EA Tiburon, developer of the Madden NFL video game series

?          Yun-Hwa Peggy Hsieh, Ph.D., professor and graduate program director, Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences in the College of Human Sciences at Florida State University

?          Daniel Kelly, M.D., Ph.D., scientific director and professor at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research
